NAVIGATOR PROGRAM
Navigator Program
The Tallahassee Urban League (TUL) Navigator Program purpose is to provide healthcare navigation services to improve access to healthcare coverage and healthcare services to reduce health disparities in underserved and vulnerable communities within Leon County. The TUL will collaborate and partner with a network of stakeholders in the county to deliver consumer education, outreach, and enrollment (EOE) services and support for consumers. Outreach and education activities and events will occur at the central location to increase consumer awareness regarding enrollment services. TUL will collaborate with other assisting organizations on joint education, outreach, and enrollment activities to best serve consumers. Additionally, Navigator staff will conduct in-person EOE activities and events throughout the service area to engage consumers. Support activities provided by staff will also include live on-call telephone assistance, email, and online chat messaging for consumers. Recruitment and outreach efforts will occur at community health centers, beauty parlors, nail salons, barbershops, local parks, churches, meat markets and grocery stores, etc. Advertising and marketing campaigns will also be utilized to reach the uninsured consumer. Materials will be distributed promoting the Health Insurance Marketplace. Navigator staff will explain to consumers at community events the benefits and requirements for healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The TUL will also hold education seminars for frontline partners and stakeholders who have regular contact with the uninsured community to raise awareness of the benefits and requirements of the ACA; and encourage our partners and stakeholders to refer consumers to TUL for navigator services as well as serve as enrollment sites.The central enrollment site will be located at the Office of the Tallahassee Urban League, 923 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32304. The Office is ADA accessible and open Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
